Alphonso Wilkins, 88, of Bethany, entered eternal rest on September 10, 2025. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Mooney Wilkins.

Born on May 3, 1937, in Conetoe, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Alphonso Jones and Senora Carney.

Mr. Wilkins worked for many years as a Machine Operator at Pond Lily Factory and later as a Truck Driver with the New Haven Register before his retirement. He was also a devoted former member of Dixwell Avenue Congregational United Church of Christ in New Haven.

He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Leslie Pruitt; his son, David Wilkins, and wife, Courtney; his granddaughter, Jessica Frazier, and her husband, Wilbert Frazier III; his great-granddaughter, Harlynn Frazier; along with many extended relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by his brother, Abe Hyman, and his grandson, Wesley L. Pruitt.

A private burial will be held.
