Virginia W. McKnight, 77, of West Haven, died July 2, 2018. She was the widow of Shafter McKnight, Sr.

Mrs. McKnight was born in Sumter, SC on March 30, 1941, a daughter of the late Isaac White, Sr. and Rosa Lee White.

Prior to retiring, she was employed at the Hospital of St. Raphael as a Registered Nurse.

Virginia leaves to cherish loving memories, her children, Vincent McKnight, Lisa McKnight and Michael McKnight; brothers, Isaac White, Jr. (Doreen), David White (Joanne) and Alonzo White (Renee); sisters, Josephine McQuillen, Marie Major (Randy) and Cynthia Williams (Steve); 8 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives friends.

She was preceded in death by a son, Shafter McKnight, Jr. and a sister, Mary White.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 885 Wintergreen Ave., Hamden. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Viewing will be held Tuesday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
