Ruby D. Bailey, 77, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on March 22, 2017.

Ms. Bailey was born in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, on October 24, 1939.

Prior to her retirement, she was employed at Quinnipiac University.

She leaves to cherish loving memories, her sisters, Pastor Alice Echols and Mary Payne; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her adoptive mother, Mariah Echols; and a brother, Eddie James Echols.

A celebration of Ms. Bailey's life will be held Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 11:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Burial will be private.
