Robert B. Brooks, Jr., 64, of New Haven, entered into eternal rest on July 20, 2015. He was the husband of Blanca Colon Brooks.

Born in Trenton, NJ, June 10, 1951, he was the son of the late Robert B. Brooks, Sr. and Marie Howard Brooks.

Mr. Brooks was employed at Cornell Scott Hill Health Center for 18 years as a Security Officer Supervisor.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Jermaine T. Brooks; daughters, Mary A. Brooks, Tonya Brooks-Gandy (Michael), Kimberly Brooks Spearman (Japacco); a stepson, Pedro Rosario; stepdaughters, Liliana and Aida Rosario; a brother, Charles Brooks; sisters, Delores Brooks, Sharon Brooks Law (Richard) and Mary Skillman Jones; 16 grandchildren; a great grandchild; father in-law, Hector Colon; mother in-law, Catalina Aviles; brothers in-law, Hector and Jose Colon; sisters in-law, Irma and Elizabeth Vazquez and Mynerba Colon; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by a son, Robert B. Brooks, III; a brother, William Brooks; and a sister, Carolyn Moore.

A celebration of Mr. Brooks' life and legacy will be held Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 9:00 a.m. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing will be held from 8:00-9:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
