Rev. Versie Mae Dennis, 83, of New Haven, entered into eternal rest on August 17, 2015.

Born in Eufala, AL, May 8, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Eeley White and Lindorra Mathes.

She is survived by sons, Julius Dennis, Jr., Johnny and Jarvis Dennis; daughters, Veronica J. Dennis-Moye and Verjulia M. Wilkins; a sister, Cora White; 28 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her former husband, Julius Dennis, Sr.; a son, James Dennis; a daughter, Vercina A. Dennis; and sisters, Minnie Lee Williams and Johnnie Lee Hill.

A celebration of Rev. Dennis' life and legacy will be held Tuesday, August 25, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Hope Temple Church, 555 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
