Rebecca B. McKiver, 95, of West Haven, departed this life May 18, 2014. She was the wife of Robert E. McKiver, Sr. for 78 years.

Born in Mt. Olive, NC, April 10, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Betty Herring Branch.

Mrs. McKiver was a former member of Mt. Hope Church, Inc. and one of the founding members and former Pastor and mother of New Light Holy Church, Inc.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons, Robert Jr., Timothy E., Marshall J. and Randy R. McKiver, Sr.; daughters, Christine Jackson (Joseph), Everlena Ferguson (Leroy) and Emma Koonce (John); A total of 144 grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Lettice McIver and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters and 7 grandchildren.

A celebration of Mrs. McKiver's life and legacy will be held Friday, May 23, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Agape Christian Center, 90-100 Goffe St., New Haven.Viewing will be held at the church from 9:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
