Irene Posavetz, age 74, of Woodbridge, Connecticut, peacefully entered into eternal rest on December 24, 2025.
Born on May 30, 1951, in New Hyde Park, New York, Irene was the beloved daughter of the late John and Mary Posavetz.
Irene moved to Norwalk, Connecticut with her family when she was 14. She lived in several towns throughout Connecticut before eventually settling in the New Haven area.
Irene was a fun loving, caring person, with an infectious sense of humor. She had an adventurous side, as well, enjoying boat rides, trips to the casinos, swimming at the beach, and taking walks in the park.
Very active, she looked forward to going to restaurants, movies, shopping, bowling, bingo, and the beauty parlor.
A very popular member of the community, Irene worked for many years delivering mail and running errands for Aspire Living & Learning (formally called The Institute of Professional Practice) before finally retiring a few years ago.
Irene cherished those special moments she shared with her loving family, dear long-time housemates, and her devoted caretakers. She was deeply loved by all who knew her and will be sadly missed by the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving brother Kenneth Posavetz of Branford, Connecticut and numerous relatives in Hungary.
