Pearly Mae McClain, 86, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on November 21, 2025. She was the devoted wife of the late Oscar Joseph McClain.
Born on September 3, 1939, in Wake Forest, NC, she was the daughter of the late Luther Jiles and Ella Fleming Jiles. Before retiring, Pearly worked as a Nursing Assistant at Yale–New Haven Hospital (formerly Grace New Haven Hospital) and later served in the Quality Control Department at Winchester Repeating Arms (Olin).
A woman of faith, she was a longtime member of New Haven Church of Christ.
Pearly leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Pamela McClain; granddaughters, Nicole McClain-Walton and her husband, Sean, and Brooke McClain; great-grandson, Bryce Walton; her daughter-in-law, Paula Jackson McClain; a special lifelong friend, Betty Brodie; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was predeceased by her son, Ronald Joseph McClain; her sisters, Mary Ann Jiles-Scott, Grace Clowney, and Emma Lee Jiles; and her brothers, Kenneth Lee Jiles, Johnny Jiles, Aaron Jiles, Ellis Jiles, Willie Robert Jiles, and Harry Jiles.
A celebration of Pearly's life and legacy will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at New Haven Church of Christ, 16 Gem Street, New Haven, followed by interment at Beaverdale Memorial Park. Family and friends may attend a visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
