Pauline D. Lathrop, 85, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on January 27, 2018. She was the widow of Daniel Lathrop, Jr.

Mrs. Lathrop was born in New Haven, CT on March 26, 1932, daughter of the late George Dixon, Sr. and Estelle Adams Dixon. Prior to retiring, she was employed by the City of New Haven Board of Education as a Parent Coordinator.

Pauline was a longtime member of Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church in Hamden, where she previously served on the Missionary Board and was a member of the choir.

She leaves to cherish loving memories, a daughter, Paula Lathrop; sons, Daniel Lathrop, III (Sylvia) and Michael Lathrop (Tami); a brother, James Dixon; sisters, Ernestyne Mayers, Lucy Phillips and Linda Fripp; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by a brother, George Dixon, Jr.; and sisters, Ruby Moore, Stella Payne and Catherine Robinson.

A celebration of Mrs. Lathrop's life and legacy will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 9:00 A.M. at St. Matthew's UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 8:00-9:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, February 2, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Christian Tabernacle Baptist Church, 425 Newhall St., Hamden.
