At sunrise on November 1, 1948, Norman Scipio, Jr. was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Norman Scipio, Sr. and Emma (Pierce) Scipio of Darlington, SC. Norman entered into eternal rest at sunrise December 3, 2019, in New Haven, CT.

Norman was educated and attended church in Darlington as a youth. Norman was affectionately called "June/Jr." by family and friends. Norman moved to Baltimore, Maryland and worked at the shipyards and a taxi company, until he realized his talent in Auto Body work. Norman moved to New Haven, where some of his siblings were located. In 1978 Junior's Auto Body was opened and ran successfully until Norman's retirement in 2018.

Norman met and married Angela (Jackson) Scipio in 1996. The two were happily married for 23 wonderful years. Norman loved football, political debates, reading his bible, fishing, and enjoying the company of his German-Shepard, Kobe.

Norman leaves behind to cherish his memories, his wife, Angela Scipio; his son, Norman L. Scipio (Megan) of Hamden, CT; his granddaughter, Yasmine Scipio of New Haven, CT; and an "adopted" daughter, Sheena Williams of Wilmington, NC.

Norman also leaves to cherish his memories, 4 sisters, Phyllis East (Bob) of Winston-Salem, NC, Betty Scipio of New Haven, CT, Sybil Little (Bobby) of Fayetteville, NC and Carolyn Scipio of Winston-Salem, NC; 5 brothers, Jimmy Scipio (Priscilla) of New Haven, CT, Sam Scipio of Winston-Salem, NC, Allen Scipio of Winston-Salem, NC, Jeff Scipio of Winston-Salem, NC and Marvin Scipio of New Haven, CT; a special niece, Tara Joseph and her girls, Briana of Winston-Salem, NC and Taryn and Neira of New Haven, CT; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by a brother, Micheal Scipio.

A celebration of Scipio's life and legacy will be held Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
