Charlester Moye, 94, of New Haven, CT departed this side of Heaven on December 3, 2016 at his home. He was the devoted husband of Bertha M. Darden Moye.

Mr. Moye was born on March 27, 1922, in Ayden, NC, son of the late Thomas and Helen Moye.

Prior to his retirement in 2005, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for 48 years.

In addition to his wife of 74 years, he is survived by a son, Charles D. Moye; a daughter, Yvonne B. Tyson; 6 brothers and sisters; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.

A celebration of Mr. Moye's life and legacy will be held Saturday, December 10, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Agape Christian Center, 90-100 Goffe St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
