Obituary

Laurie Helena Hewitt Moore, 50, of New Haven, CT, loving daughter of Elnora Hewitt Potter and the late Charles A. Hewitt, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 5, 2014.

She attended James Hillhouse High School and was a member of their Majorette Squad. While a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church of New Haven, Ms. Moore was an active member of the Girl's Friendly Society and the Young People's Fellowship. More recently she was an active communicant of Church on the Rock of New Haven where she gave her time whenever she was called upon.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her brother, Lt. Charles (Robyn) Hewitt (retired NHFD); a niece, Captain Charise A. Hewitt (U.S. Army); and a nephew, Charles A. Hewitt.

A graveside memorial service will be held Thursday, October 9, 2014, at 1:30 P.M. at Beaverdale Memorial Park, 90 Pine Rock Ave., New Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Church on the Rock, 95 Hamilton St., New Haven, CT 06511 or St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 111 Whalley Ave. New Haven, CT 06511
