Monica Lynn Jackson, 37, of New Haven, entered eternal rest on October 3, 2016.

Born in New Haven, CT, May 31, 1979, she was the daughter of Stacie Byrd and the late Theodore M. Jackson.

Monica was employed at the West Haven V.A. Hospital as a Medical Technician.

In addition to her mother, she leaves to cherish loving and lasting memories, a daughter, Kenya Butler; sisters, Ashley Byrd, Lakisha Streater and Tiffany Childs; a brother, Ronnie Childs; her maternal grandfather, Albert Byrd; paternal grandparents, James and Marina Jackson; aunts, Linda and Debbie Jackson; a godson, Rasheen Johnson; dear friend, Lekenya Butler; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her maternal grandmother, Marion Byrd.

A Requiem Mass to celebrate Monica's life and legacy will be held Friday, October 14, 2016, at 10:30 AM at St. Martin de Porres Church, 136 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 9:00-10:30 AM. Burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
