Mary Rosena Lockwood, 96, of West Haven, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2016. She was the widow of Lawrence E. Lockwood.

Mrs. Lockwood was born in Richmond, VA, February 12, 1920. She was a daughter of the late Green Piece Carver and Mary Lou Brown Carver.

She is survived by daughters, Marilyn Adetona (Adebo) and Diane Moore (David C. Jr.); a son, Lawrence Lockwood (Katherine); 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Lockwood was predeceased by brothers, Frank, George and Andrew B. Carver.

A celebration of Mrs. Lockwood's life and legacy will be held Friday, February 26, 2016, at 11:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
