Lucas Gaillard, Jr., 76, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on September 8, 2026. He was the beloved husband of Rose Nicolas Gaillard.
Lucas was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on May 5, 1950, a son of the late Lucas Gaillard, Sr. and Emilie Gaillard.
He was employed for numerous years as a Machine Operator. In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish loving memories, his children, Garmelin Gaillard (Nichole Hamilton), O’Jonny Gaillard (Dominique Roberts) and Benjamin Gaillard; grandchildren, Julien Gaillard and O'Jonny Gaillard Jr.; siblings, Yolie G. Hyacinthe, Fransico Gaillard (Yolaine), Linda G. Biguad, Mirlandy G. Roy (Brumaire), Gina Gaillard, Jean David Gaillard (Yesenia), Emelyn G. Compere (Pete), Marylyn Gaillard, Diane Gaillard; nieces and nephews, Cindy Bigaud, William Bigaud Jr., Tiffanie Bigaud, Elizabeth Rocher, Joanne Gaillard, Amanda Williston (Robert), Greyson Williston, Emilia Williston, Sophia Lewis (Kimani), Fernando Gaillard Jr., Davani Gaillard, Zarias Gaillard, Aniyah Gaillard, Jada Gaillard, Marla R. He was predeceased by his brother, Fernando Gaillard; and brothers-in-law, William Bigaud, Joel Hyacinthe.
A celebration of Lucas’ life and legacy will be held Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 9:00 A.M. at French Speaking Baptist Church, 786 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Family and friends may attend a viewing at the church from 8:00 A.M. to 9:00 A.M.
