Lizzie R. Mangum, 86, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on January 5, 2017. She was the widow of Joseph Mangum.

Mrs. Mangum was born in Wilson, NC on April 15, 1930, a daughter of the late Leonard Hall and Flonnie Lucas Hall.

Prior to retiring, she was employed at Robby Len Co. as a Seamstress.

Lizzie leaves to cherish her memories four daughters and six sons; William Long of Ohio, Edward Barnes (Hazel) of Leland, NC, Juanita Harrell (James) of Hamden, CT, Deloris McNair (Odell) of Orange, CT, Junious Barnes (Carolyn) of New Haven, CT, Marvin Barnes of East Haven, CT, Ron Magnum (Karen) of Southampton, Bermuda, Gwendolyn McCray of Rocky Mount, NC, Sharon Snipes-Harrison of New Haven, CT and John Mangum (Nadine) of West Haven, CT. She also leaves one brother, Louis Hall; a sister in-law, Novella McMillian, 22 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

She was predeceased by a son, Leo Barnes; brothers, Gene Woods and Wiley Lucas; and a sister, Annie Lee Ellis.
