Kirkland L. Fain was born September 1, 1943 in Derby, CT, to the late William and Gertrude Fain. Kirkland passed / transitioned on May 12, 2022.

Named by his eldest sister, Kirkland was the first to graduate college (West Virginia State University) where he earned his baccalaureate degree, He earned a Master's Degree from Southern CT College. He was a teacher in the New Haven and Hartford, CT school systems for 40 years.

He was predeceased by his siblings Tommy Lee Fain, Rev. Pearl Stanley and Sigbee Lewis.

He leaves to cherish his memory a sister, The Rev. Dorothy M. Kennedy; nieces: Patricia K. Solomon, Beverly K. Parler and D. Katherine Chambers; nephews: Brad Stanley, Brian Fain and Christopher Fain; special first cousin Barrett Jackson; as well as a host of other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at 11:00A.M. at Pine Grove Cemetery, Ansonia, CT. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the West Virginia State University Foundation.
