Johnnie F. Gordon, 63, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on June 26, 2016. He was the husband of Vera Gordon.

Johnnie was born in Sylvester, GA, on April 4, 1953, son of Mary Frances Collins and the late Joe D. Gordon, Sr.

Prior to retiring, he was employed by Metro-North Railroad as a Truck Driver.

In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Gordon leaves to honor his legacy and cherish loving and lasting memories, his daughter, Kendra Hicks; stepfather, Clarence Collins, Sr.; his brothers, Thomas Toles, Joe (Leslie) Gordon, Jr., Clarence (Celeste) Collins, Jr., Michael Collins and Ronnie (Valerie) Collins; sisters, Gwen (Johnny) Salters, Beverly (John) Williams and Lula Gammage; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Mr. Gordon's life and legacy will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016, at 9:00 AM at Agape Christian Center, 90-100 Goffe St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 8:00-9:00 AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
