John M. Shields, age 69, of Hamden, entered into eternal rest on May 25, 2018.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories, daughters, Tiffany Shields and Dana Shields; brothers, Bishop Dozier Shields (Lena), Deacon Tommy Shields (Sherry) and Leroy Shields (Barbara); and a sister, Reverend Idell Shields.

A celebration of Mr. Shields' life and legacy will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Joy Temple, 424 Howard Ave, New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
