James K. Strong, 73, of Hamden, departed this life September 3, 2014. He was the husband of Virginia Strong.

Born in Greenville, NC, May 14, 1941, he was the son of the late Aaron and Ethel Strong.

Mr. Strong was employed at Rockbestos Wire Cable Company as a Machine Operator for numerous years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Clifton Tyrone Strong; daughters, Geraldine Strong Randolph (Dwayne), Sharina Gibbs (Jamal) and Roselyn Lockett; a brother, James D. Strong (Carol); a sister, Mary Moye (Roger); three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Mr. Strong's life and legacy will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Bible Gospel Center, 143 Leeder Hill Dr., Hamden. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
