Hermena A. Jackson, 82, of New Haven, peacefully entered eternal rest on June 27, 2025. She was the beloved widow of Aston Jackson.
Born on January 15, 1943, in St. Catherine, Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Belzena Golding.
Mrs. Jackson dedicated many years of her life working as a Certified Nurse's Assistant. She was a devoted and longtime member of Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Hamden, CT.
She is lovingly remembered by her children: Michael Jackson, Desmond Jackson, Una Jackson, Karen Jackson, Lavene Powell, Joycelyn Jackson, Pauline Jackson-Mchayle, and Denton Golding; twenty-seven grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her sister, Alice Harrison; brothers, Gilbert Golding, Franklyn Golding, Lewis Golding, and Clifton Golding; along with many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.
She was predeceased by her sons, Benjamin Jackson and Lee Jackson; daughters, Elaine Bernard and Jacqueline Jackson; one grandchild; brothers, Bernard, Henry, Sylvester, and Lasell Golding; and sisters, Imogene Barneby, Violet Wright, Mavis Golding, and Justina Golding.
A celebration of her life and legacy will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Zion Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 335 Putnam Avenue, Hamden. Friends may call at the church from 10:00–11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Hamden Plains Cemetery.
