Gilberto Figueroa, 81, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on April 6, 2018.

Mr. Figueroa was born in Juncos, Puerto Rico on February 24, 1937, a son of the late Victor Figueroa and Nicholasa Hernandez Figueroa. He had been employed at Elm City Cheese Co.

Gilberto is survived by his wife, Evangelina Luna Figueroa; daughters, Nancy and Lisette Figueroa; sisters, Secundina Figueroa Hernandez and Nicholasa Vidro; grandchildren, Raquel and Adriana Sein, Kenneth Jackson and Daevon Lafrazier; a great grandchild, Eliel Costin; other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by three brothers and a sister.

A celebration of Mr. Figueroa's life and legacy will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at 11:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St. New Haven. Viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
