Obituary

Bobbie Ellis was born in New Haven, CT on December 20, 1953, the son of the late May Ellis and Dollie Mae Pitts Ellis in New Haven, Connecticut. He attended New Haven public schools and resided in New Haven all his life. He was athletic and excelled in all sports, especially baseball. He had a strong-arm and his peers and coaches were amazed at his skills.

As a young adult, Bobbie enjoyed dressing in fine clothing and driving around in his Cadillac. He enjoyed singing, dancing, and socializing with friends and family. Bobbie had a great sense of humor and would laugh and play games with his nieces and nephews. He would sing two of his favorite songs Ooh Child Things are Going to Get Easier and It's a Beautiful Morning.

In his later years, Bobbie was an uncomplicated person and was grateful for the little things in life. He was straight forward and content in what he had, he never tried to impress and stayed humble. Bobbie was an honest person with strong values. He did what he was supposed to do, but never allowed anyone to take advantage of him. Bobbie enjoyed spending time in the park across the street from his home. He would dance around and sing his favorite songs, enjoying nature and the simple pleasures in life.

He leaves to cherish loving memories, a brother, Bennie Ellis; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was predeceased by a brother, Willie Joe Ellis and a sister, Mary Joyce Ellis Harris. They will greet him with open arms as he enters Heaven's realm, and he, in turn, will meet them with his radiant smile. May his soul rest in peace.
