Eleanor "Helen" Bryant, 74, of New Haven, departed this life peacefully, September 19, 2014.

Born in Kingstree, SC, July 5, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Louise D. Williams and Fred Nesmith.

Eleanor was a graduate of Wilbur Cross High School. Prior to retiring, she was employed for many years by the former Southern New England Telephone Company.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a beloved son, Henry A. Brooker, his wife and loving daughter in-law, AnnMarie Levatino-Brooker; three grandchildren, Montez Walton, Jamie Bryant and Tara Bryant, all of New Haven; two sisters, Janie Roberson and Catherine Campbell both of New Haven; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by a son, James "Pokey" H. Bryant, Jr.

A memorial service to celebrate Ms. Bryant's life and legacy will be held Friday, September 26, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven.
