Edwin Harvey Jones, 67, of Hamden, entered eternal rest on May 30, 2018. He was the husband of Inez Jones.

Mr. Jones was born in Leland, North Carolina on January 19, 1951, a son of the late George Jones and Bessie Mae Jones.

Prior to retiring, Edwin was employed at Sandvik Steel as a Machine Operator. He graduated from James Hillhouse High School, New Haven, Connecticut and New England Tech, Hamden, Connecticut.

In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish loving memories, sons,Terrill Carr (Natlee) and Quinten Jones (Melissa); brothers, Alton Jones and Leon Jones (Michelle); five grandchildren, Quinten Rollins, Richard and Jason Atterberry, Giovanni Thompson and Quinten Jones, Jr; three great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by brothers, David Jones and Alexander Vereen; and sisters, Luretha Saleem Brown and Edna J. McClendon.

A celebration of Mr. Jones' life and legacy will be held Thursday, June 7, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Union Temple Freewill Baptist Church, 54 Platt St., New Haven. Viewing will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
