Anthony Jones Smith, 54, of New Haven, departed this life on February 21, 2017. He was the loving husband of Michelle Lyde-Smith.

Anthony was born in Columbia, SC on April 19, 1962, a son of the late Berry Smith and Ida Pogue Smith.

He was the owner of Anthony and Sons Carpeting.

In addition to his wife, he leaves to cherish loving and lasting memories, a son, Anthony Jennings; stepsons, Arthur Dudley III and Wesley Charles Dudley; a brother, Oliver (Audrey) Smith; sister, Gloria (Tyrone) Harper; a special nephew, Ike (Felicia) Smith; five grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 885 Wintergreen Ave., Hamden. Viewing will be held at the Hall from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
