Willie T. Allen, Sr., 64, of West Haven, departed this life January 10, 2008. He was the husband of Shirley Allen.
Born in Montgomery, AL, March 25, 1943, he was the son of the late James Allen, Sr. and Marcilla Allen.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft as a Machinist.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Willie T. Allen, Jr. (Margaret) and Charles E. Allen (Yvonne); sisters, Millie Williams (James), Pearlie Jones, Velma Eaton, Beatrice Brantley, Ola Rountree (John) and Joann Sutton (George); six grandchildren; sisters in-law, Brenda and Louise Allen, Brenda Lee and Gwendolyn Roberts; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by brothers, James Allen, Jr. and Napolean Allen; and a sister, Rosie Stewart.
A celebration of Mr. Allen's life and legacy will be held Wednesday, January 16, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Church of Christ, 16 Gem St., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
