Edward Riles, Jr., 68, of West Haven, departed this life May 30, 2010. He was the husband of Janice E. Riles.
Born in St. Augustine, FL, July 30, 1941, he was the son of the late Edward Riles, Sr. and Essie Mae Riles.
Mr. Riles was employed for many years at Blosverens Lamp and Refinishing and later became owner of Blosverens.
He was a coach for Walter Pop Smith Little League for over 20 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Edward Riles, III (Darlene); a daughter, Angela Riles-Sykes; a brother, Daniel Riles; sisters, Louise and Willie Mae Riles; grandchildren, Alesha Riles, Shant'e Sykes and Edward Riles, IV; a great grandson, De'ron Dickerson; a special nephew, Da'velle Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Riles.
A celebration of Mr. Riles' life and legacy will be held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 9:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held from 8:00-9:00 AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
