Pearlie M. Jones, 73, of New Haven, departed this life May 6, 2010 with her family by her side. She was the widow of Leroy Jones, Sr.
Born in Deatsville, AL, January 29, 1937, she was a daughter of the late James Sr and Marcilla Allen.
Mrs. Jones was employed as a Private Duty Nurse for numerous years.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Loretta Jones Bolden (Charles Sr.) and Andrea and Lisa Jones; a son, Stephen Jones, Sr.; sisters, Ola Rountree, Velma Eaton and Joann Sutton; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Ann Marie Jones; sons, Leroy Jones, Jr. and Darrell Jones; brothers, James Jr., Willie and Napolean Allen; and sisters, Rosie Stewart, Millie Williams and Beatrice Brantley.
A celebration of Mrs. Jones' life and legacy will be held Friday, May 14, 2010, at 11:00 AM at Church of Christ, 16 Gem St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
