Shirley M. McLain, 64, of Hamden, departed this life September 1, 2009.
Born in Bennettsville, SC, December 23, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Clara Mae McLain.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Swingline Staple Co. as an Assembler.
Ms. McLain was a member of St. Matthew's UFWB Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Jacqueline Patricia McLain and Barbara McLain-Russell (Adolphus); a sister, Lillie Oliver; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, John D. McLain.
A celebration of Ms. McLain's life and legacy will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at 7:00 P.M. at St. Matthew's UFWB Church, 400 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 6:00-7:00 P.M. Burial will be Wednesday in Linden, NJ.
