Marion E. Stanley, 82, of Hamden, peacefully entered into rest on December 30, 2009 at CT Hospice.
Born in New Haven, CT, April 13, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Otis and Charlotte Matthews.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Yale University.
Marion is survived by her daughter, Valerie E. Gatavaski; granddaughter, Dara Lauren Perrelli; sister in-law, Doris Matthews; niece and nephew, Kathleen Barbour and David Matthews; cousin, Doris Perry; and a lifelong friend, Gad A. Troxler.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Otis Matthews, Jr.
A celebration of Ms. Stanley's life and legacy will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at 11:00 A.M. at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
