James C. Ward, 80, of New Haven, departed this life October 1, 2007.
Born in Dunn, NC, June 19, 1927, he was the son of the late Edward and Estella Grady.
For numerous years, Mr. Ward was employed by the State of CT, Department of Corrections as a Correctional Officer.
He was a WWII Army veteran.
He is survived by his children, Joyce Faye McFarland and Doris Davis; brothers, Walter and Charles Grady; a sister, Edith Williams; a dear friend, Tracey Randolph; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Phyllis Johnson.
A celebration of Mr. Ward's life and legacy will be held Thursday, October 4, 2007, at 10:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Friends may call from 9:00-10:00 AM. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
