Loretta Handy, 99, of West Haven, departed this life July 15, 2010.
Born in Wattsville, VA, October 24, 1910, she was the daughter of the late James T. and Annie Handy.
Prior to retiring, she was employed at Olin Corp. as a Machine Operator.
She is survived by a sister, Josephine Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by brothers and sisters, James O., James R. and Mattie Handy, Eula Ames, Frances Scott, Nettie Sills, Alberta Hundley, Reba Guni, Evelyn Shelton and Theodona Irvin.
A celebration of Ms. Handy's life will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Viewing and visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial will be private.
