James Earl Gray, 90, of New Haven, departed this life January 9, 2009 at CT Hospice after a long illness. He was the widower of Dorothy Miller Gray.
Born in Bowling Green, VA, December 14, 1918, he was the son of the late Elwood and Ethel Gray.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for many years.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his children, James Gray, Jr., June Jones (Norman), Gloria Abrams, Doris Davis (Simuel), Johnest Clark, Kenneth Gray, Gigi Snipes, Herbert Gray and Minister Sandra Gray; twenty-one grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; six sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by a sister and five brothers.
A celebration of Mr. Gray's life and legacy will be held Friday, January 16, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at Morning Star Deliverance Ministries, 125 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
