In Loving Memory Of
William Felder, Sr.
1935 - 2007

November 8, 2007
wish I had the words to comfort you,
In all your pain and grief.

But I know there is nothing I can say or do,
to help you find relief.

Your numbness will soon subside,
and the pain and tears will be real.

Just remember no matter what,
It's ok to feel what you feel.

Each day may seem like a burden,
sometimes it will be hard to face.

But they will never stop loving you,
just because they're in a new and better place

They will live on in your hearts,
you will all have memories to share.

And when your time on earth is through,
with open arms, they will be waiting for you there.

I knew Bill very slightly, but nonetheless will mourn his passing.  He worked a seciond job along with his Yale job at a chili joint called "Hungry Charlie's" which occupied the spot that later became and remains Toad's Place. In 1971 I was a wandering hippie seeking meaing in life and working whatever jobs I could find.  I returned from several years in California trying to become a rock star and began slinging hash at Hungry's. Bill showed up every evening with a smile on his face and a willingness to work a second shift with no  complaint.  Working alongside him that summer, I couldn't quite comprehend what made him so happy to work so hard, but later on, when I had my own children, I realized that it's not always just about yourself.  He was a role model of the good provider and cheerful worker.  There aren't enough like Bill, and now there's one less.

My prayers and condolences go out to the Felder family. I have known the family for many years on Ivy St being a neighbor of my family The Allens and being in the neighboorhood forever. Look to the hill whence our help comes from. I feel you because I have losted my Dad but at least their in a better place. Because this world is not our home, we're just passing through. Love You.
