Orris M. Elliott, 85, of New Haven, departed this life February 18, 2008. He was the husband of Sarah Mack.
Born in Nevis, West Indies, June 15, 1922, he was the son of the late George and Mary Elliott.
Prior to retiring, he was employed at Winchester Repeating Arms and was also a self-employed carpenter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Joan and Cheryl Elliott; brothers, Carleton and Simeon Elliott; a sister, Millicent Elliott ; two grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by a brother, Nathan Elliott and a sister, Helena Williams.
A celebration of Mr. Elliott’s life and legacy will be held Tuesday, February 26, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Curvin K. Council Funeral Home, 128 Dwight St., New Haven. Friends may call from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial in Hamden Plains Cemetery.
