Luezzie Carmichael, 95, of Hamden, departed this life May 4, 2009. She was the widow of Herbert Carmichael.
Born in Dillon, SC, December 4, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Lathan McCloud and Sarah Ford.
She leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Pastor Patricia Higdon (Bishop R.J. Higdon), Dr. Shirley Peterson and Pastor Bertha Maddred; sons, Apostle Hugh Carmichael (Joyce) and Walter and Joseph Carmichael; a sister, Emma Bethea; 42 grandchildren; 72 great grandchildren; 41 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pastor Mary Tart; sons, James, L.J. "Bill" and Roy Carmichael and four sisters.
A celebration of Mrs. Carmichael's life and legacy will be held Friday, May 8, 2009, at 6:00 P.M. at Trinity Temple Church of God in Christ, 285 Dixwell Ave., New Haven. Friends may call at the church from 5:00-6:00 P.M. Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 A.M. in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
