Ronnie Canteen, 48, of Meriden, departed this
life January 28, 2008 with his family by his side.
Born December 11, 1959 in Middletown, CT,
he was the son of Frances Hickman Canteen and the late George
Canteen.
He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School
and was employed by Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for 30
years.
Ronnie was a member of numerous bowling and
billiard leagues, which he enjoyed immensely. He was also
well known as the “Master Blaster” DJ in the
Middletown, Hartford and New Haven areas.
In addition to his mother, he leaves to cherish
his memories his beloved sister, Kelly Council(Curvin);
his maternal grandfather, Henry Hickman, Sr.; aunts, uncles,
cousins, other relatives, friends and a special friend,
Judy Perez.
In addition to his father, he was preceded
in death by his maternal grandmother, Sadie Hickman and
his paternal grandmother, Rosa Canteen.
A celebration of Ronnie’s life will
be held Friday, February 1, 2008, at 11:00 AM at Shiloh
Baptist Church, 346 Butternut St., Middletown. Friends may
call at the church from 10:00-11:00 AM. Burial in Pine Grove
Cemetery.
