To the Hawley and
Stewart family,
I am deeply sorry to hear of your loss. I knew Candra and Catrina from school
in West Haven. I cannot begin to explain the impact I felt when I saw her
picture in the papers. I had not seen Candra in many years, but still remembered
her beautiful face. My heart goes out to her children and her surviving family
members. Within the next few years I hope that time will easy your pain.
Sincerely,

Me, my sister (Keysha),
Candra, and Catrina practically grew up together in Meadowbrook in West Haven.
I have so many fond memories of times that we shared. Candra was a really
good person and she was loyal to her friends - old and new. I didn't see her
often but when I did she always spoke of her kids and it was evident that
she was a devoted mom and that she LOVED her sister Catrina. She would always
tell me about Catrina's most recent accomplishments. To the family, I send
my condolences and know that my prayers are with you. Stay strong and remember
to always let her children know that she was a true gem.

Dorthea, Catrina,
MeMe, Donna, Mindy, and hosts of family members and friends my prayer is that
God will give you a peace that surpasses your ability to understand this process,
that His strength will overtake you in your weakest and toughest moments,
that He will grant you an overflow of His love to pour into the lives of Candra's
children, and that as you go through the normal grieving process that you
will celebrate the memory of her life and continue her legacy of love and
care for those in the greater community.

I first met Candra and her family, when I moved from Bridgeport to west Haven meadowbrook apts. She was always a friend and hangin partner.. I remember Candra, Lisa, Chanel and myself being grown, running the streets getting in trouble and not realizing that we were all getting older. Never knowing that our friendships would drift apart. Now here it is, that I have to say my good byes and send prayers out to her family because this beautiful young woman is no longer in our presence, no longer here to make us laugh, scream, yell and cry.. All I have to say for now is that things do eventually get better, keep your heads up and never doubt why her.
