Barbara A. (Palmore) Bowen of Pensacola, FL, formerly of CT, passed on December 8, 2009 surrounded by her loving family.
Born November 6, 1950 in Mobile, AL, she was the daughter of Doris Neal and the late Henry Neal.
Barbara graduated Eli Whitney High School in Hamden, CT and Pensacola Junior College in Pensacola, FL. She worked for The Naval Education and Training Command with the Navy ROTC Program.
She was a dedicated mother and Grandmother. Heaven has truly received an Angel.
In addition to her mother, Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters Pamela Bowen of Pensacola, FL; Danielle (First Class E6 Jarriel) Gardner of Japan; sisters, Sheila Neal of New Haven, CT and Tara Neal of Hamden, CT; brothers, Ronny Neal and Avant Jones both of Philadelphia, PA; four grandchildren, Andre and Aaron Bowen of Pensacola, FL and Avanni and Reina Gardner of Japan; truly dear friends, Nate and Tina Dancy of Pensacola, FL; and host of dear family and friends.
Barbara was preceded in death by a sister Sandra Coleman.
A celebration of Ms. Bowen's life and legacy will be held Friday, December 18, 2009, at 11:00 A.M. at Immanuel Missionary Baptist Church, 1324 Chapel St., New Haven. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Burial will be in Beaverdale Memorial Park.
