The Curvin K. Council Funeral Home has been providing funeral
and related services in the Greater New Haven area for over fifteen
years.
Curvin K. Council is the owner of Curvin K. Council Funeral
Home, providing professional and compassionate care to the families
he serves.
Mr. Council is a native of New Haven, CT and is an alumnus of Hill
Regional Career High School in New Haven, graduating in 1990 as
president of his class.
In 1996, Curvin established the Curvin K. Council Scholarship Award
at his high school alma mater. This award is given each year to
graduating seniors interested in mortuary science or health professions.
Mr. Council is a cum laude graduate of American Academy McAllister
Institute of Funeral Service in New York City and is also a graduate
of Christian Leadership Bible College, where he received a Bachelor's
of Theology Degree and was named class valedictorian. He is also
a licensed insurance agent.
Curvin is married with one daughter and is a member of St. Matthew's
Unison Freewill Baptist Church in New Haven.
He is a member of the Greater New Haven Funeral Directors Association,
Connecticut Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors
Association. He has served as vice president of the Greater New
Haven Funeral Directors Association and as a member of the board
of directors for the Connecticut Funeral Directors Association.
Mr. Council has also served as a commissioner of the Chapel West
Special Services District in New Haven and also served as president
of the New England chapter of the National Funeral Directors &
Morticians Association.
Mr. Council maintains high standards of integrity and ethics, which
is exerted with each family he is entrusted to serve.
